Leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember. Don't send a message, leave a comment here. Next, if you like, re-post this in your LJ and so people can leave a memory they have about you.

7:52 pm - Goodbye, old friends... but oh so worth it.
|
That is my shoes, of course. Some beat up bad, some worn never or only once... many goth circa 90s, you know, the kind of buckle boots you can't buy anymore. 2 pairs of thigh high, 1 veggie-patent lace up the front boots and 1 patent leather boots.... several really pretty granny boots, etc. Also, some boring shoes purchased for office work. The ones that weren't purchased for work are a little hard to let go of, as they signify an era of so much fun and good friends, some still here, some now gone, and the memories attached. I DON'T need shoes I can't even fit into any more.... so they must go...
Y? 3 months after, and I am resigned my feet will not shrink back to the size they were before. I used to wear 6.5-7.5 depending on the shoe. Some ladies have their feet go back to normal, some don't... and I'm pretty sure by now I'm one of the ones that don't. Now I'm a solid size 8... with a few smaller sizes depending on the style. And some that SHOULD fit, but I did something weird to my toe- I dunno broke it or something, so holding on to a few pairs for sentimental value (Syruss got to me)
It is a VERY small price to pay for such beautiful little boys, and they are so beautiful. But it is bit reluctant, for such a shoe horse to see two garbage bags of shoes she loved that need to go.
So, what to do with them? I wish there were still those 'sell it on ebay' stores around, I'd drag them down there. I don't WANT to guess what the value of the shoes were new, LOL.
Suggestions with what to do with them, to gain some small monitary contribution for their loss (with minimimal effort) would be welcome.

1:52 pm - What happened to Livejournal?
|
Not even Syruss is posting anymore. With how busy our schedules are, I relied on it to find out more about what is going on with him, as well as the rest of the world.
Is there some other new site I'm missing out on that is better?

11:48 am - More babies firsts- and protection guidelines for babies during flu season from CDC
|
I love most of their firsts. However, I do NOT love their first cold. It is mild, so of course I worry.
More worried because several people I work with have contracted the full blown out FLU who HAD flu shots. The flu is very, very serious in babies under six months who cannot have vaccines, and under 1 year cannot receive antiviral medicaton. It can cause very serious injury or hospitalization or.....
So these are the guidelines. I feel really bad for not keeping my masks on all the times when I had a cold around the babies, but it scared Nikola. I had NO IDEA about the 3-6 feet thing so I'll have to keep up on that too. In the future I guess I'll just have to look scary, no if ands and buts if I get the flu....
CDC Guidelines:
- Check with your health-care provider. (If you have influenza, your doctor may prescribe antiviral medications for you.)
- Try to minimize contact with your infant as much as possible.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when sneezing or coughing, and put your used tissue in a waste basket.
- Wash your hands or use an alcohol-based hand rub frequently and as soon as possible if you have sneezed or coughed on your hands.
- Before engaging in any activity within 3-6 feet of your infant (including feeding, changing, rocking, reading to your child), put on a surgical mask (available in most drugstores) and thoroughly wash and dry your hands. (Information about hand hygiene can be found at: http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/stopgerms.htm#GoodHealthHabits.) Do not remove your surgical mask until you are done and you have put your infant down.
- Take these precautions for the first 5-7 days of your illness (beginning the first day you notice symptoms).
3.) Be Watchful Observe your infant closely for symptoms of respiratory illness. If your child develops a fever (100°F or higher under the arm, 101°F orally, or 102°F rectally), respiratory symptoms, or is less responsive than normal, contact your child’s doctor. - Page last updated October 26, 2006

4:48 pm - Messiness and babies....and daycare.... whaddya think
|
So.... started noticed babies are trying to mouth anything near their mouths and am in concerned mode as both Syruss and I are messy. We can't leave little bits of pieces out of anything anymore... we BOTH need to get better at it. The problem is approaching Syruss on stuff he leaves out as apparantly I lack tact. He lets me know all the time about stuff I do.... so I should do the same, right?
For instance wrappings and little plastic bits that attach tags can't be left out anywhere.... these were left out on the hearth.... and when I see things like this I freak out and this starts turning into an anxiety attack... because I doubt they were meant to be left out, and I think 'what if I didn't see that and the babies were already mobile'....
weighing daycare options, I am getting references for a small daycare provider I like- got good answers to questions I asked her today, babies would be brought to field trips like zoo but not movies.... no water play but might be outdoor in shade for supervision... was worried about them saying they have 'paid vacation'
weighing small daycare home provider vs. Kindercare- Kindercare has insurance and small daycare provider has me worried because has medical accident disclaimer in handbook... however small daycare provider seems really friendly/family like, don't have to worry about finding a babysitter tansfer after, AND they are looking to get video monitoring soon.... which I would really like to be able to go look at babies during the day when I miss them....
Keep on waffling... Kindercare is REALLY expensive I guess I have to talk to Syruss more about it...

5:35 pm - Done being a cow. Done done done done done!
|
No more. I love my babies and want the best for them, but this is rediculous. It is making me a frazzled, painful mess. I am a hair away from my last bit of tolerence and strength trying to do this.
Last week I discovered I had a yeast infection on my nipples, which means can't even try to latch the babies. This is after my first breast blockage which took a full day of wet heat, massaging, and finally a baby to unblock.
Since then, I've had FIVE blockages. What this means is the breast (or part of it) gets rock hard and stwollen and painful and have large lumps sticking out that you better unblock or risk a serious infection, which causes flu like symptoms and can be dangerous.
Was given larger flanges for the pump to prevent nipple irritation- which worked but it NOW TAKES OVER AN HOUR for each session. Rediculous, to spend 6-8 hours a DAY pumping breast milk!
I will try to unblock this blockage, but I am at wit's end. I need to discuss it with Syruss but right now I am so fed up that if I block one more time within the next couple of weeks I am DONE. I am exhausted, miserable, in pain, and worst of all- ALL of my time is dealt trying to fix or prevent damage to me the milk factory, and simply upkeep. What this means? I am spending NO awake time with my boys other than feeding them, dealing with clogged breasts and pumping and getting maybe 2-4 hours of sleep each 24 hours. They are only this young once, and I don't want to miss all the good aspects of their babyhood and miss it all, which is happening right now due to the damn problems with my boobs; I know the milk is good for them, but isn't actually interacting with people and spending time with their mother more important?

11:31 am - On sour milk, weird milk caps, and paranioa
|
Random- I noticed the Sunnyside Farms milk I bought had a different cap than normal, no easy open, had to pry open...
Poured milk into cereal, two bites, ICK SOUR
Dumped out milk... noticed cap looked lighter weight than normal...
Noticed the inside of the cap reads "Madison Illinois Pend", "60101", "M-270-1", and "Blackhawk Pat".
Am I just paranoid, or is that odd? So tired I'm dreaming up terrorists doing stuff to milk... (just the tip of where my paranoid mind goes) gah....

4:55 pm - Update.. and apologies and disclaimer... and ZIM
|
For those who don't read Syruss' Journal... link to pics http://picasaweb.google.com/syruss.flyte/AlexanderClarenceNikolaKenneth#
Also a warning/disclaimer, we will not be able to do Christmas gifts this year, so please I don't want any of our wonderful friends to feel like we don't love them, we do, finances are a bit tight right now.
I am really really busy and tired but also really really happy. My apologies to those I haven't had time to speak to.
Additional apologist to SPIGGYCAT I never properly thanked you and censer for your WONDERFUL and sweet gift, thank you SO much for the awesome clothes, baby books, sheets, printing set, and WONDERFUL awesome toy! You guys are awesome and I did not properly thank you, so THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU and I miss talking to you
Aunt Irene is out for a few days visiting and helping she is AWEOME and we are so grateful to have her help...
My poor sister is sick and hasn't been able to meet anyone yet, I hope she gets better soon
FMLA is up on December 1st, just put in a call to work saying I want more time off under CFRA...
Had one care recommendation from brentwoodconnect, trying networking for referrals as calling random people is scary
Syruss and I are very, very tired and very, very happy. Nothing like it or as wonderful. Again, I am SO grateful I had pre-eclampsia. Thank you pre-eclampsia! Weird how things work out sometime, isn't it? Kinda like how I was glad when my cell phone got stolen, because of it I found out (and was able to head off lots of damage) my identity was stolen.
I am a witness on December 3rd for the people (Oakland) against the person who punched me in the stomach and mugged me, Nick Arisac (friend of family/parents) wants to meet me at my work (haven't been there for three months!) and take me down there and be there so I have a supportive face/person there - wow, hat is so incredibly nice of him, he feels guilty becuase I was in Oakland because he gave me a referall which helped me get my job? Crazy, I LOVE my work. Very nice of him and don't know how to properly thank him...
So, Zim has been a real problem. We've spent at least 7K in vet bills since we got him six years ago, and is still peeing all over everything. We thought he was better, but right after I came home from the hospital it started up again, and more peeing on the couch, on objects, etc. As to recent family changes we cannot put up with it any longer as it is now a serioius health risk. So, called many shelters, and no-one wants a broken cat. At a last resort we decided to try to make Zim an outdoor cat- we put him outside, and I think he disappeared :(
OK, now to try to be a little productive.

7:00 am - Zim has been unusually affectionate lately...
|
Quite a nice change, surprising actually. The last 2-3 mornings he's come up, meowed, given me cuddles, and demanded attention. I haven't seen him act like this since before Syruss brought home the new kitten!
Of course, as soon as either Bitsy or Skelter come into the room, he flees, but it is SUCH a nice change to have him be sweet and affectionate. And he does it in a way that is not as demanding and in-your-face as the other two kitties./\

2:36 pm - Again, lagging going to one of the only clubs I still like.. I SHOULD go it is my birthday next week
|
Another month of lagging going to one of the only clubs around I still like....
So, Satori is tonight in San Jose.
Only of a few clubs I still like, as I enjoy the
a) Music b) People (often, old friends/acquaintances are there) c) Don’t feel ancient. Yes, there is still a large young 20-something crowd, but people in my age range, up to much older go. A good mix of all-ages 18-around 65. d) Is on Saturday, so is easier to go than on a friday or week night vs. (Santa Cruz clubs I wish I had the energy/stamina to go to)
I probably should go, as next weekend is my birthday. I know I would probably have fun, but...
Here are my excuses:
1) Tired (always)- extra tired and emotionally drained as Grandma's funeral was yesterday. I definitely would be too tired to drive home. 2) Need to get up at a decent hour tomorrow- My cousins are still visiting and at my parents in Los Altos, plan is to go over there tomorrow, spend the day w/them and my dad, perhaps watching old movies grandma had of when she was young, some starring my dad and deceased uncle Kenny when they were kids, visit another friend maybe while I'm out there 3) Want to spend tonight with Syruss
I am SUCH a lagger... I think it would make it a lot easier if Syruss actually liked going, but he doesn't and I learned the hard way making Syruss go to things he doesn't want to makes us BOTH unhappy.... I often find myself when I have the choice of going or not choosing to spend time with him, even if it isn't anything special...
Hey, you guys, don't let me use things as an excuse next month, especially work or being tired, OK?
Hey, anyone on my friends list who lives in the east bay, would you be interested in carpooling next month?

2008 Year of the Rat $2 Cairn Island Coin Present From Syruss
Not much new here, work, work work! But I got a VERY nice unexpected present from Syruss, for no reason, just BECAUSE he told me about the coin and I said it was neat and I mentioned I wished I had one, and because I love rats. Very sweet, there were I think a total of $30,000 made, so it wqas not easy to get. |

http://www2.printshop.co.uk/RatherGood/PrintShop/Designer.html?image=401
Hmmm, I can get 'chilled' guitar kitten, but no more punk kittens. I had a punk kitten mug that got scratched. http://www2.printshop.co.uk/RatherGood/PrintShop/Designer.html?image=386
And, you can get BABY clothes, aprons, and mugs with Rathergood stuff on it!
Hmmm.... should I get a 'we like the moon' Ringtone? http://rathergood.lhmmedia.com/

1:23 pm - Vote for Zim and Tammie and Pass it on! Help our carpets and...
|
So, I wouldn't have heard about this if it wasn't for Cyne and Tammie.... of course I voted for Tammie but also entered Zim as we could REALLY use the Nature Miracle products that are a possible prize, due to not being able to afford his bladder stone surgery, and, well, his behaviour and our carpet our suffering. I've committed myself to splitting the prize w/Cyne and Tammie if Zim wins anything, as we wouldn't know about the contest at all if it weren't with her.
Humane Society Spay Day contest 2008.
Go Here:
http://www.spaydayusa.org/rate.html
Do a search for Zim, and Tammie, and follow the instructions.
You can vote for more than one pet!
In other news, work is CRAZY in a good way. This is probably the last weekend I will have free until the end of March!

So, Satori is tonight. Wish I could go, but still sick, and sickness is starting to dwell in my chest. Felt better, went to work yesterday, got worse.
Ah, well. I am glad for Satori. And I don't suspect it will go anywhere (hope it won't!) until next month.
